Aye, I’m MacIntosh, but I’m no hermit. I just live in an out of the way neighborhood.

SUMMARY

"I was beginning to think you were really stupid..."
- Lady Jaye (to Flint, who confessed that he has been afraid a number of times)

While the Baroness silently glides down to the remains of the Pit in a Rattler, drops off a wreath of roses with the words "RIP Destro" on a small banner and causes the Joes to dive to the ground, Serpentor sells Cobra's first Terror Drome to three envoys from the provisional military of Sierra Gordo. General Hawk receives a photo from Airtight, who unintentionally gives a Hawk a plan to help the Joes learn more about the Launch Base. With Flint in the back seat, Slip Stream pilots the Conquest X-30 through the jungles and demonstrates some of the plane's high-tech features, but Cobra detects the plane's entrance and launches a Firebat to intercept and destroy the plane. The Cobra plane hits the Conquest with its firepower and Flint parachutes to safety, however, he is captured by Tomax and Xamot. Slip Stream radios Joe headquarters and informs Hawk that the "passenger" was delivered safely before returning back to base on reserve power. Flint is delivered to Dr. Mindbender, who swats the Joe with the back of his hand and travels with him to another level in the base where the brain-wave scanner is stored. Meanwhile, at Fort Wadsworth, Flint tells Lady Jaye that Scarlett may appear perfectly calm but she is really simply adept at hiding her fear. Lady Jaye turns to Flint and asks, "You do know what it's like to be afraid, don't you?" Flint, who is not looking at her, replies, "Uh, sure! I've been afraid a lot!" And while the rain falls on them, she glares and notes, "I was beginning to think you were really stupid..."
